imovie 3..pushing my buttons

I just downloaded imovie3 off the apple site and when im playing a movie i edit I get a bunch of pop and clips in both the audio and video, like it's running slow. Any suggestions?

I think imovie 3 would kick ass, but i am very tempted to go back to imovie 2, if I can.
