iMovie 7.1.1 and Sony HDR-HC3 ???

I'm having trouble transferring video from HDV/DV port into iMovie. I'm able to get iMovie to recognize the camera and get a blue pop up screen but am unable to import or play the video, as the screen stays blue even though the counter runs.
Any suggestions?:confused:
