iMovie 8.0.6 Crashing

Hello,

I am having a lot of trouble with iMovie 8 crashing. It is pretty much constant and it gives me the attached error. I am using OS X 10.9.1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That's because it's not fully compatible with Mavericks, upgrade to iMovie 10

Oh that's not good. I had a look at the reviews for iMovie 10. Is it as bad as they say it is? I guess I'm left with little option unless someone can recommend better software for someone who only wants to edit family videos.

It really is not as bad as everyone makes it sound. I use it for my family videos and small projects. Does a nice job for me. And I have Adobe AE & PP, but still use iMovie. Personally I liked iMovie 9.0.9, but after using 10.0.1 for the past little while, it is pretty good for the easy things.
