iMovie Always say loading project when any change is made

every time i make even the slightest change in a project it has to load the project. Im running a 2010 17 inch macbook pro with 8 gb of ram and a 5400 hard drive 2.53 if that can help. This is getting really annoying

They're just 5 mp jpgs from my ip4 and im using iMovie 11 9.0.2

I use 11, and I've never seen that.

i gave applecare a call and it was caused by me not selecting media from the built in browser but dragging in because it had to keep searching
