IMOVIE and hard disk

Sorry for the dopey question but can I ask:- I've created and burnt a number of iMovies onto disk - no problem. I also keep some of these on my hard disk and am currently working on about 3 new ones. My 250GB hard disk is almost full. Am I doing something wrong. My movies are generally about 15 minutes long.

Find each file and get info to see how big it is. Also, if you are burning them with iDVD you are archiving another file besides the iMovie files.

One Hour of video is apox. 12GB in iMovie.

I currently have about 10 external Firewire drives with archived files on them from a 10GB to 500GB drives.

Good point

I'll check files tomorrow. Part of my concern is that when making movies I would like to keep some clips stored somewhere to use on other projects again and again. Wondering what the best way to do this is.
