Hi guys
i got a sony trv 250 today..i was trying to transfer the movie to my ibook..usiing imovie..but its not recognizing the camcorder...i am using usb cable..
is it necessary to use firewire inorder to use imovie?? or is there a way out?
coz i wont be able to spend another 40 bucks for a firewire cable...
i will really appreciate any help

My camera didn't come with a FireWire cable, but that was 3 years ago. And I knew nothing about digital video....so it drove me nuts trying to get video to the computer via USB.

If you have a type of flash media for digital still pictures, the USB might be for that.
 
It'll be pretty painful using the USB cable. Try it if you want to appreciate the Firewire that much more.

Is it really $40 for a cable? That seems high.
