Hello How do I add a movie background to a movie that I will get as a download from a third party, not the ones that are available in iMovie already? Thank you!

I want to add falling snow effect to Snow Leopard running iMove 09

I also want to do the same thing.

I am running a late 2008 iBeast 4 gig of RAM 1 TB of memory using iMovie 09 and iMovie HD from 2006. Where can I get an easy plug in to put falling snow video effect over a still image in iMovie, set to about 30 seconds?? Big, puffy slow snow flakes...
