iMovie - choppy video

I'm using an aluminum MacBook running 10.6.2 and just yesterday, in a workshop, I was importing video using the internal camera and the videos were very choppy. The audio is fine.

I'm wondering if I should reinstall iMovie? reinstall Snow Leopard?


Any suggestions would be welcome.
