iMovie confusion

I'm confused on iMovie a little as they mentioned today it is a "universal" application, meaning that it is same app for both the iPad and iPhone. Does this mean that if I own the iPhone version, it will become available for free download when I get the iPad 2? It would be treated as an update no? I would think so, but not sure
