As you can see, my video is 528X451 and I want it to stay like this.
aspectibINd.jpg

The problem is when I edited it in iMovie (latest version) it want to change the aspect ratio to 16X9 by zooming in. I don't want that. I can't seem to find where I can change this behavior. Where should I look?

I'm not sitting in front of my Mac right now and I don't use iMovie in english, but please try:

1. Click on the clip
2. Click on "adjustments" in top right hand corner
3. Click on icon symbolising cropping
4. Switch from "Fill" to "Fit"

That's exactly right. Thank you.

But the shared video still is 16X9. How can I retain the original ratio for the finished video (no black bar on the sides)?

When you go to Share>File and the menu opens, you can choose how you want to export your video as I have shown below. Unfortunately those are the only options you have, but you can output it in SD.

Yeah.. too bad SD for Apple is still 16X9, not 4:3 like it should.
I guess the app is great for editing videos from iPhone or iPad but I really miss the previous version.
