No iMovie is to edit the videos you take... its not an app to do anything else. Yes you can go into the iMovie app then pick create a movie but it just opens up the same video camera that your get from the main camera app... nothing new added and it doesnt work any better.

And BTW iMovie is POINTLESS... doesnt do much of crap for editing and the 5 themes dont even work for most people. I have had an iPhone since the day the 2g was launched and havent regretted a single app bought since until the other night I got this app..... COMPLETE JUNK, dont waste you money... someone will build upon this an make a Killer editing app soon I'm sure.

i don't hate it like you seem to however i've got a lot of things on my wishlist for the update. it's what it is. a rough editing too for iphone...5$ is a bit steep though if that's as developed as it gets...

I haven't used iMovie for i4 - but I have enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) ReelDirector. Great App. More expensive... but no doubt that Apple saw that there was really only one (GREAT) app in this realm and decided to compete

I was watching the Apple site's iMovie 09 video and there is a function in the desktop app that will steady video (thru software/algorithm functions)

but no, nothing built in to the camera or iOS app. you'd have to be ultra smooth or get one of those small steadicam devices
