A friend of mine made a movie clip in iMovie and is saving it to an external drive that can be read on both the mac book and my xp laptop. I know the files can be read on both systems becuase we sat side by side and installed the drive on both systems. Can she save the iMovie clip to the drive and I would I be able to import the clip? What file format does iMovie use to save files?

Do you want to watch a clip of something she made in iMovie? In which case she'll need to go back into iMovie, and export the movie as a Quicktime file to view on your XP box.

Or do you mean 'import' a DV-clip into your own editing software?

Yes, I would like to watch the iMovie clip on my xp laptop. So she should just save the clip as a quicktime clip?
