imovie frozen

i'm working with imovie 08 and while trying to add clips to a project imovie froze or something...

there is constantly the circular loading icon in the upper right corner where i preview the project.... and i cannot add any new clips to the project.

anyone know what happened and what i can do to fix it?

Have you repaired permissions yet via Disk Utility?

What Mac and Mac OS X version do you use, what kind of project do you edit, SD (DV-PAL or DV-NTSC) or HD (Large or*Full)?

i have not repaired the permissions yet on disk utility... i'll give that a shot...

i have a Macbook from a couple years ago with tiger, 10.4.11
in imovie 08 i upload the mp4 videos as large (instead of full)

update: the disk permissions repair didn't help. imovie is still screwed up.

it won't let me preview the project i am working on either.

also....
it won't let me export the movie
