So my brother and I have been working on a film project, and he wants to do some voice overs in it. He went to record, pressed the microphone button and iMoives HD froze. He though it was a one time thing, so he restarted iMoive, and tried again. Same thing, tries again, and same thing.

So he brings the files to my iMac G5 (before he was doing this on a MacBook CD) and the same thing happens. He calls me over, and I tell him to try and record audio in a new project without video, he tried it and it works fine. he goes back for his film project, and it freezes again.

And ideas on what the problem is? We're up to date w/ all software, it iLife '06, for PPC/X86 so thats fine.

thanks!

Update, now iMoive isn't opening at all for the file

Corrupt files? Or bad external HD?(were its running from)

I'm not sure why it's freezing on just iMovie now, but in the future you might try using GarageBand to record the voice-over. You can time it to the video track (which can be displayed in Garageband, I think), and then just export it over. It might be more stable that way. :shrugs:
