iMovie HD Space Hog?

I had around 40 gigs of space before I started a project.

Now I have imported 3 movies. 1: 40mb, 2:700mb, 3: 900mb.

And now my space is decreasing!

Please help me!

It is a space hog. Once you're finished with a project, convert it to a better compressed format and remove the project from your drive.

Is there a way of saving the project so it takes less space? Sometimes I like to go back and make slight changes to an old film, or change the material about a bit.

I also sometimes have many clips of material that is not in the final film, but which I don't want to just dump either - I like to save the project as a whole, including the timeline, unused clips etc. (this is after deleting and erasing the material I know I never want to see again).

You're right, it's a space hog. Any tips on archiving projects?
