I record Xbox 360 clips with a Hauppauge 1212 HD PVR and post them to YouTube. Here is a clip of the quality I was getting with iMovie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq1aZzmB2IQ As you can see, no black bars and the quality is good.
Initially, I was using iMovie. The process I went through to make the videos HD on YouTube was to Export them from iMovie to QuickTime, then to upload to YouTube from there. But now I have switched to iMovie HD and have used the same process to upload my videos, yet the quality has been destroyed. The settings that I used before were uploading in 1280 x 720 HD and Best Quality.
Now the quality doesn't even look HD and it has black bars. The first video looked like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPxAnuLk3cY
Then I did some snooping around and found that it was using LetterBox to maintain the aspect ratio and that was the reason for the bars.
So I changed it from LetterBox to Fit To Size and came up with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDueabv1Eh0
Then I was sickened by the quality so I changed it to the final option which was Crop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OdCo65V6R8

Please help me get my quality back but with iMovie HD, instead of iMovie.
