well, i don't know how to record music on garage band without having the tempo in the background (its really annoying), so I just recorded it on iMovie and just didn't put in any movie clips.

But, now, how do I save JUST the audio from the iMovie creation so that I can get the audio on my iTunes? (and no, I don't want to save the movie to itunes and just have it as a black screen movie with the audio... I want the MP3).

Thanks for any help :)

The clip is in the Timeline? In the menu advanced extract audio, also make sure your in the right view in the timeline to view the audio portion of the clip. Click on the extracted audio in the timeline while holding down the mouse button and drag the audio to your desktop or wherever you want, you should now have a Mac Aiff file, that should be easy to convert to a mp3 file.
