iMovie Help - detaching audio?

Hey guys. iMovie noob here.

I've got a video recording of me talking to the camera and I want to somehow make a new movie with just me talking (the audio) on a blank, white screen. But I've got no idea how to go about this.

I'll need to:

1) Detach the audio (I've heard the term used before, but I'm not sure how to do it)

2) Use that audio as background music on a blank white screen for its duration

I'm not sure how to do that. Can someone help me?

EDIT: I'm using the most recent version of iMovie on Lion. I'm assuming that's iMovie '11?

You want to Demux (separate the audio and video), and I want to say there is a way to export the audio only (check under the share options), but I'm not positive.

I've never tried to do that, but if you search Demux in iMovie maybe that will get you closer.

Put the clip into a Project, then select it(so it has a yellow border) and you'll find the Detach Audio option in the Clip menu.

For a white background, just insert a blank, white title.
