iMovie help needed

I am now into doing youtube reviews of apps (youtube: iAlexMac1) and I use either screenium or screenflow to record but when I import the video from iPhoto to iMovie it seems to cut off the menu bar and half the dock? I dont understand why since when I play the video before importing it, it is fine?
