imovie help with import size

Is there anyway to make it so when i import a 2 hour video into imovie it DOESNT make it like 24 GB in size? I wanna edit a movie but i dont have enough space on my HD to do it if it imports it and makes such a huge file

There's a limit to the formats iMovie can work with. Take a look at converting to MPEG-4 before bringing your stuff into iMovie.
