Hello

I have a video file I captured from an analogue camcorder using a DVC on my old pc several months ago.

Anyway, being a mac man now and the proud owner of iLife '06 I wanted to turn it from 2 hours of footage into a snappy looking movie and thought iMovie!

But trying to import the file gives me this message..

"The file could not be imported: The file “iMac HD/Volumes/External HD/Video/Sailing/den_helder.mpg” can’t be imported; QuickTime couldn’t parse it: -2048"

Surely this isn't beyond iMove is it?

Any help much appreciated

Thanks for the tip!

I searched and found ffmpegX which converts loads of video files and does it for free.
