When I'm importing videos from my Sony DSC-T9 digital camera, there is no sound. I've looked in the help and it says because the video is mpeg 1 muxed, it won't import sound. I have tried using QuickTime to convert to .mov and .mp4, but still no sound.

The Sony DSC-T9 is a digital point-and-shoot still camera which also has a video mode. It connects to your computer via its USB port. iMovie is designed for miniDV (not miniDVD) and other prosumer and professional digital tape formats. It communicates with a camcorder via the camera's FireWire port. Are you starting to see a pattern here?

At any rate, thank your lucky stars that you have gotten as far as you have. Your MPEG-1 videos have multiplexed (aka muxed) audio and video. You are going to have to demux the video and video into separate tracks.
