Hi Everyone,
I just burned my first home movie DVD. Everything worked pretty well. My iDVD and iMovie slideshows even look really good on my TV, which is still the old analog resolution.
There is just one thing that seems strange to me. Hopefully someone can provide some helpful feedback.
With my Canon mini-DV camcorder, and in iMovie and in iDVD, I always selected the widescreen 16:9 format. On my iMac screen, it looks as expected. However when I played the DVD on my 4:3 TV via my DVD player, it didn't insert the bars on top/bottom of the screen. Instead, the picture filled up the vertical portion of the screen and the left/right portion of the picture was just clipped off. Anything near the left/right edges of the picture was not viewable on my 4:3 screen.
Any idea what causes this? Is it normal? I would have expected to see the letterbox bars on the top and bottom of my 4:3 screen which would then enable me to see the entire horizontal image.
Thanks in advance.
