iMovie iOS fails to autosave...

I worked for 45 minutes cutting about 12 different clips in iMovie on my iPad Pro 9.7. When finished I clicked "done" to show my wife the finished work in the main project window. All was good. Put the iPad to sleep and when I woke it four hours later the iMovie project only contained the first clip I added.

Anyone else experiencing buggy performance from this app as well? And yes, I am running the latest version of iMovie.
