I have a brand new mini. I took in some footage into movie that has audio as well. When I play the clips, the audio is fine, but the video seems to be missing frames.... How to explain....

OK, I took a close up of me talking. Audio is good. The video does NOT stutter or have any noticeable problems other than it doesn't appear to be in sync. It "feels" like there are missing frames.

Any ideas?

is this during playback in imovie, the exported file, or both?

OK, I am a 100% noobie to mac... just got the mini this week.... go easy. ;)

It is when the clips are added to the top part of the screen. I have not actually completed a movie. I just put 2 or 3 clip up there to see the dissolve and watch what happens.

Well I don't use imovie, but based on my experience with NLE software, I'd venture to say that playback on editing software is usually low quality in order to edit faster and not waste so much time rendering to view it.

But if the final outcome of the movie is also like that, then that is a problem.
