iMovie keeps quitting "unexpectedly"

Hello, just got my macbook about a week ago...and i love it...but i am having issues with iMovie. I noticed iMovie was not installed so after installing it from the OS disc's, I keep getting the "the application quit unexpectedly" message...tried re-launching but I am still getting the same message. Any ideas? I tried resetting the pram and repairing under disk utility...but still no go .
Please help, any suggestions, tips, feel free! Thank you!

Try deleting files with iMove in the name under YourUserName>Library>Preferences.

hi um im kinda having the same problem except it closes when i finish saving my project then all my clips go in the trash and in the wrong order
how can i fix this because this project is for my school work which is pretty important.

Each time you save? Did you follow my instructions from the second post?

Have you tried making a new project file?

On occasion this happens to me in GarageBand...I'll be replaying a track I'm working on and it quits unexpectedly...would you recommend the same solution?
