I have macbook pro touch 256gb ssd and i found have little free space.
Now i check and clean a lot of space but i have problem with Imovie Library.

It is very big (At moment 35GB) and i want clean this space but i can't delete my projects.
I prefer save the projects because if i need it tomorrow or for another work, i can use again it.

How can i do it?
Can i move the IMOVIE library to external hdd?

IF YES (After moved library)
Can i make a new library into macbook pro, make new XYZ projects and export it to ext hdd again?

THX

You can create more than one iMovie library yes. Unless the external HD, is SSD, I suggest editing on the internal SSD, and then copying the project to the external drive when done. Editing on the external drive is too slow.

What I am writing here will work in iMovie 10, I am not sure about older versions.

Open iMovie, and the click the Archive menu, point at "Open library" and select "New...", you can now create a new iMovie library on your external drive.

After this, you can copy or move PROJECTS or EVENTS. The projects contains the edits you have done, and the material you used for those edits, the event contains all the raw material.

You secondary click on the project and event list on the right (When you are editing a project). From here, you can move or copy the event or project to the external drives library.
Once there, you can confirm by opening those events or projects.

Once you are sure everything is on the external drive, you can delete things from your internal drive (directly from iMovie), or if things are being difficult, just delete the iMovie library on the internal hard drive.

Hope this makes sense.

Thx

My idea was the same of you. I will edit every time into MacBook Pro ssd and after I will send the library/project to external.

In this moment I ordered and seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm hdd 3.5 and external box.
I had problem to find similar size of western digital . I think that every hdd can be good because I will send projects and I though to use a little space for time machine backups (I will do it few times in the year because I have my docs and photos into clouds)
