Hi everyone,

I have been building a 1080hd project in iMovie but when I burn it to iDVD the quality diminishes. Filming in HD seems point, ess to me if this is what's going to happen when I export the movie.

Doe anyone know how I can get around this problem?

Many thanks!:)

You'll need to get Final Cut Pro if you want to burn to Blu-Ray, iDVD can only handle, as the name implies, DVDs which can only be used to playback SD content.

I was under the impression that Final Cut Pro X is only for editing, i.e. it does not have an integrated burning feature? You may be confusing it with Compressor, which, along with Final Cut Pro 7, was part of the Final Cut Studio suite.

@ the OP, you still need an external Blu-Ray burner to burn in HD since most Macs on the market have CD/DVD burners, and others have no optical drive at all (Mac mini, MacBook Air, retina MacBook Pro).

Thanks for the replies :)

I actually imported in Quicktime in the end using 720p. Problem I have now is that when I try and play from my NAS to my LG tv it doesn't recognise the file?

Is there another codec I should have used when converting?

Thanks!
