Just wondering if anybody knows the answer to this?
In the 'old' iMovie when importing video it didn't matter if you allowed iMovie to import excess material (lets say 10 minutes extra) as you could immediately cut that section out of the iMovie project, empty the trash and the file size of the project decreased appropriately.
This was a feature that I found extremely useful. In fact using Pinnacle on the PC which seemed to refer to sections of video files and not make changes to them resulted in a crazy amount of wasted hard disk space. As a result of being unable to delete sections of the imported file not required. Clearly this example also applies to sections in the middle of the imported footage.
Can anybody shed some light on whether the 'new' iMovie works as the 'old' iMovie did or as Pinnacle does and simply refers to sections of an external file?
Regards,
Colin
