iMovie not working on my new MBP

I don't ever use iMovie because I use FCE, but for some reason when I try to open iMovie it says the application has unexpectedly quit, before even opening up.

What does the crash report say?

As obvious as it is, have you tried restarting? Installing all software updates, then restarting fixed that glitch on two of our computers.

yes I have restarted, I am installing the software updates right now. Another thing is when I open Safari, it won't go to any apple.com page, but will go to any other web site.
