I have wondered this for awhile. What is the reason why when opening imovie, or even logic pro for that matter, the optical drive sounds like its looking for a cd?

Unless of course i am the only one with this problem!

That sounds like a problem... none of the Macs that I have ever owned look for a cd/dvd when booting up iMovie.

It could be that you have some sort of preference turned on to automatically look in the optical drive, but I didn't see any option when looking through the iMovie preferences.

grr why did i not ask them that before my 90 days were up for phone support. its not a huge deal, but its pretty ridiculous.

i may take a trip to the apple store just to be sure

edit: actually, i just bought iLife 09.. i can just call and make it seem like an iMovie problem! which it might be!
