Hi guys

I am new to imovie and have a question regarding the quailty of photos when imported into imovie. In iphoto the shots are 4 meg and look great, when i import from iphoto to imovie the quailty is substantially reduced...each shot is 125k. I can't find an option to increase quality of imported photos. I am using an older veriosn of imovie..2005 i think.

Please help.

Thanks

Ross

I think the problem you're experiencing is that iMovie is dow-converting all your images to fit onto a standard definition movie. Basically video has much lower resolution than stills (heck, imagine 4Mpixel images running at 30 fps! ). Even if you go to the highest settings in iMovie (1080i is it?) you'll be downsampling your pictures to a height of 720 pixels. If you want a higher-def slideshow for computers, you should probably stick with iPhoto.

I'll just have to put up with it, as i want to add music, voice overs etc.

Thanks for you prompt reply.
