When working with videos located in iPhoto there are times that iMovie must "optimize" them before you can alter the playback speed. My question is regarding the newly created "optimized" file. I just now noticed the newly created file is placed, in a newly created subfolder, which is stored in iPhoto (iPhoto > Event > iMovie Speed Conversion).

I've created countless videos in the two years I've had my iMac without ever noticing this. My initial thought was these files were deleted once I deleted the iMovie Project however that is not the case. These files are of course several times larger than the original so I'm now wondering how much of my 80+gb library includes these files.

With such a large iPhoto library going thru each master folder one by one is not an option. Can some help me search for these specific files. I've tried doing a search for "iMovieSpeedConversion" but I'm not getting get any results.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
