iMovie quicktime components

I've had my imac since last november, and only now have I decided to have a play around with iMovie, now the problem is it says im missing the quicktime component to export inport ect, this is probably due to me messing around with the components at an earlier date.
I searched this forum and the only solution I found was using the disc to restore iLife, the thing is I don't have a disc nor do I think I ever had one (what box would it be in? I have a new imac). So is there any other way to get this quicktime component that I need?

I'm not quite sure what to say if you have a new iMac but didn't notice the CDs and manuals it came with.

If you really are missing the CDs, I'd suggest calling Apple and asking them for a copy. As a last resort, I guess you could (illegally?) download it, but of course piracy is never encouraged here. Would this count as piracy?
