Here's the deal.

When i'm on my Macbook (external display not connected) and I open up the iMovie application - it won't show up on the screen. When I press the expose button, its there (the iMovie home screen is visible). When I click on it, it just takes me to my other expose apps i.e. safari or firefox.

Gets even stranger...

When i've got my external 24" display connected, it works a treat and no issues with iMovie.

Anyone heard of this particular problem before?

Here is why. iMovie is prolly set to your spaces, but on the external display. For example,

I have my G5 and another display with 8 spaces. Well those 8 spaces are technically 16 cause for each space, there is 2 spots. So, with your external plugged, move it back over to your MacBooks screen and then you will be fine.
