iMovie that came with eMac 1ghz vs. iLife 06?

Ok,so i bought iLife 06 off my friend for 25bucks and he had a older iMac g3 with ilife 06..then he smashed it to pieces and then sold me the disks(and he just got a mac pro...i hate him) and i have this old eMac...im starting to video edit alot..but my eMac has a cd burner and no dvd burner so thats one thing i am going to need...i already have a 500gig external hard drive so that works..(in two years im playing to get a macbook so this is temp)

my eMac has iMovie 3 (is that possible?) and
i just think the effects are so boring and bland?

i have g4-1ghz-512mb ram and 60gig hard drive internal

so would that work with iMovie in the iLife 06? and also what types of external drives work on the eMac?

and what are the main new stuff between imovie 3 and the new one in iLife 06? and is idvd hard to use?

iDVD is just too easy to use. Very resource hungry though.

iMovie 06 should run fine on there, and yes, you should find it a lot better. I did when I upgraded from 05 to 06, so from iMovie 3, that should make a pretty big difference. It might run a tad slow though. It was OK on my 1.5Ghz Mac Mini though.
