iMovie theatre greyed out on new iMac

I can't seem to access my iMovie theatre - the projects are all greyed out.

I'm coming from an old computer and I thought the projects were in iCloud or iCloud Drive.

I did make a backup of the old drive and can see the projects listed on it.

Whats the easiest way to bring these projects into the new Mac? Which folder(s) would I import if that's the solution? Noting the old iMac is dead.


Note I have not done the latest iMovie update since it said sharing to Theatre is no longer supported and didn't want to make any changes before I resolve this issue.

Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

I think I resolved the issue - turned off optimization in iCloud. The files returned and were no longer greyed out

Can someone tell what exactly happens to theatre if I do the iMovie latest update?
