Imovie...Thick Black Vertical lines

Hello,

So I finally got to editing my video.....however Ive encountered some issues. First, when I do a play back, there's thick black vertical lines on the side of the movie (its like a letterbox effect, only its not on the top and bottom. It's on the left and right side. How do I get rid of these?
