iMovie to recognise SDhc card.

I have some footage (avchd ) on my SD card. I've read that iMovie 09 should import this direct from the card when inserted in my MBP.

But, it always defaults to the isight camera and i cant select any other camera type from the check box in the bottom left of the menu???? Can anyone please assist?

I must be doing something stupidly wrong, but i don't know what....

You may need to just drag-and-drop the files onto iMovie's dock icon, or use File > Import > Movies…

It sounds like it's just not recognizing the card as a camera, which is not uncommon if you're just connecting the card and not the camera itself.

Just for interest.....formatting the SD Card did the trick.
