iMovie Trash

You can drag them out of the trash only (to my knowledge) back into iMovie.
1) Open iMovie.
2) Make sure you're on the "Clips" section of iMovie (the screen with a dozen-or-so boxes on the right side of the application).
3) Click the trash icon in iMovie.
4) Drag your clips from the trash into the Clips boxes.

If that doesn't work, I've had success with getting video out of iMovie projects by going to the iMovie file that you are working on (it usually saves it in your movie folder).
If you right click on the file there is an option to show package contents. You should be able to remove any video file that is in that project (it should be in the media folder).
