I have updated to the latest version of iMovie and all of my projects are gone. Also, my older version (9.09) is still in my applications folder and that opens up just fine with the projects in tact. Any thoughts?

Yes. All of my iMovie Projects are on my local HD whereas the iMovie Events are on an external HD. Would this have something to do with it?

Shouldn't do. Does your external show up in the new iMovie's window? Is there an option to import iMovie11 Projects in iMovie13? Can you select one of your Projects, Ctrl/Right click and select iMovie13 from the "Open With" option?

Unfortunately not. I went into my projects folder and tried opening with the new iMovie but it is not highlighted and therefore, cannot be clicked on. It only gives me the option to open with the older version.

Try this, from this topic:

In the iMovie events folder within finder look for a text document called UpgradedtoiMovie10

I moved that document to the trash and then reopened the new iMovie and it prompted me to search and upgrade my existing events and library as it did the first time.

iMovie 10 must create the document after it has done the upgrade of events and look for it to confirm if completed.

All is good now.

Also, your previous version of iMovie should still be in your Applications folder, according to other posters.

Plus, have a look at Post #15 in this topic, see if it's of any help.
