Is there any difference or advantages for one app over the other if I was to convert a video into an iPod playable format?

iMovie isn't really designed to convert video formats. It has very limited iPod output option and very slow. My recommendation is to use iMovie to edit movies and use iSquint to export the final footage onto iPod.

Ok, Thx. I dont even have a 5G iPod yet, im just asking questions now so when i get one ill be all ready to go. :) :D

yes, use iSquint. imovie is terribly slow importing files as well as converting to ipod...
