iMovie Widescreen Not Working

In iMovie, when I view a clip in events, it's widescreen.

I make a new project, I select "Widescreen (16:9)", but it's NOT widescreen when I play it.

Please help, cheers.

Ah! I've got a temporary fix - you can to go onto "Copping & Rotation" (by clicking the little cog symbol when hovering over a clip in the timeline) and select "Fit".

Problem solved for that clip, but what about every single clip I import??

Try trashing the iMovie .plist in Home Folder>Library>Preferences.
