What does the community think about implimenting some sort of minimum post count before a new MacRumors member can start a new thread?
I realize there would be complications to this, however it would probably help cut down the number of spam posts, and other questions that are repeated daily, if not hourly.
I'm just wondering the response to this. Some other forums I have belonged to in the past, especially car related ones, have required something like 25 posts before allowing a member to start new threads.

A big group of people who join this forum need help. Therefore it's extremely likely they're going to start a new thread for a problem they have. Restricting this would be bad for the community I think.

It's not the newbies posts I have issues with, it's the people who've been here for a while. :D

I do agree with sammich's post regarding a limit on threads newbies can post per day. This would probably cut down on spam threads, and so called "trolls".
