Import audio / video folder into FCP X

Is it possible? If so how. Every time I try it won't work.

Basically I have a friend who handed me 8 disc's that are about 45minutes long each of his football games. I can't seem to get them loaded into FCP X when I put the disc in. Any ideas?

What format are those files in?
Could the DVDs be video DVDs with a VIDEO_TS folder and some .vob files in them?

Copy the disc to your HD before trying to import them.

Yeah I just used handbrake to convert to .mp4 then into FCP X

Use MPEG Streamclip and convert them to ProRes.
