Import Footage Without iMovie

I need a Simple and Fast way to import from a SD Card (clips from a Panasonic camera) and Export the files (MTS) into a desired format Without the use of iMove. I'm Working with Adobe premier and After Effects and the whole process from importing to iMovie and Exporting from iMovie. The whole process takes way too long for the use I need it for. (Express Movie Making Challenge).

If it is at all Possible, could it be a free or cheap solution?

You could copy the folders or files (.mts) to your desired destination and use the following steps, and the CineForm codec if you want, to get your desired format and codec.
Transcoding .MTS files (AVCHD footage) to an editable format (.MOV)

Btw, Premiere Pro should allow you to import footage too.

Mpeg stream clip says the file is too short?

EDIT: I Open the Automation Process and saw that the clipgrab had to be in Applications directory to work.
I moved it there and retryied the Process. Worked like a Charms. Thanks A lot. I owe you so much. Thanks man.
