Import Iphoto event without sync to iPhone

I am trying to import a big iMovie event to my iPhone without syncing. I really don't want to have to email them all to myself.

I'm not clear on whether you are using iPhoto or iMovie but that's besides the point. Either way, you can disable the automatic syncing upon connecting a device within iTunes->Preferences->Devices. Just click the checkmark next to "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" Then connect the iPhone through the USB/dock connector cable, and import into iPhoto or iMovie.
