iCloud Import just a single Contact card?

I have a VCF file containing over 550 contacts from a late friend. I'm only going to want a handful of the individual cards. By right-clicking the file, I can see the names of the cards in the file, but is there a way I can somehow just select an individual one, rather than merging hundreds with my own and then deleting them?
