Just because you installed the new watchOS2 update does not mean activation lock is turned on
how to check

open the watch app
click on apple watch
if it DOES NOT say "mark as missing" it means your activation lock IS NOT turned on, and anyone can erase your watch
how to fix
simple. turn off find my iPhone on your paired iPhone, and turn it on again. when the apple watch connects to the iPhone the next time, activation lock will be enabled
