Spain
I live in Spain and I have got a mobile operator which supports wifi calling (o2, Movistar group).
Since iOS 15, I receive calls at random without a trace. No number, no recent or missed calls, no rings and at no particular time.
With my mobile phone in the desktop and without any reason I hear from phone speaker some calls, and there is no trace in call registry about it.

When this happens, I take the iPhone, force close all the apps and the call is still there.
There is no green indication on top corner about a call and if I make another call meanwhile I ear the audio, I'll lost the "ghost" call that entered.

Is anyone else experiencing issue like this?

I though they were my AirPods (My airpods3 are able to listen entirely my neighbour calls!) , but it seems the issue is related to something else.

If there is no trace at all of the call, and not even the green indicator in the top corner, it's probably not a call. Do you have some other app installed that uses the same ringtone? I suspect it's some not-so-serious app acting crazy.

No app was opened (I close everything and still hear audio).

There is no ringtone signal, the audio enters directly in the ear speaker. This issue is getting me crazy and I think it is related to iOS 16 and wifi calling

I can pretty much 100% guarantee you that this has absolutely nothing to do with Wifi Calling. And apps that are not open can still go crazy and run in the background.

If you think it's Wifi Calling, turn it off 😊

Are just calls audio that for some reason enters into my speaker.
There is no app involved.

You have no way to say that what you're hearing is "just calls audio". If there's no green indicator, it's not a call. It can be a podcast, music, anything. But I'm pretty sure it's not a call.

What you're describing makes no sense, no offense.

I can tell you that you are not right.
Let me try to RECORD A VIDEO when this happens and I will put in YouTube.
No green point, neither orange point, audio that comes from real persons speaking (a call) and no way to catch it in the phone, user interface is not giving NOTHING about this call.

Exactly because you say that there is no green indicator, no orange point of anything like that, I am 100% sure it's not a call. It's some other app that must be producing that audio for some reason.

But yes, sure, try to record a video of that happens again, I really wonder.

I'll try to catch it, be sure.
2-3 times weekly I have got this issue and I can assure to you that it is a call, I can hear voices of persons talking during a call.
There is no app, audio is coming randomly without any user interaction and without neither touching the mobile phone, without a trace

Where are you hearing the audio? From the speaker of the phone itself? Is it loud (as if it was on speakerphone) or do you need to hold it to your ear? And if you talk, do those people hear you?

I'm hearing from the speaker of the phone or from the AirPods if they are on my ears.
Is not loud and I can manage the volume setting from the phone lateral buttons.
If I talk people cannot hear me, but I'm able to hear them. The only way to STOP the voices coming is to put the mobile in airplane mode and disconnect wifi, otherwise there is no way to control this call.

I'm from Spain too, I have orange and wifi calls activated in the betas of ios 16, and I don't receive any calls like the ones you describe. If you're sure it's because of the Wi-Fi calls, try talking to Movistar to see if they can tell you something about it.

You said since iOS 15? Are you actually on the beta, as you posted this in the iOS 16 forum?

You either have an app / malware that is misbehaving, or you have a mental health issue (and possibly off of your meds) :)

Yes, I'm in contact with him, I've opened also a twitter topic and I will try to record the issue.

I have had had two "Ghost calls" today on Beta 5. There is a person who asks who is calling. Really strange.
Person asks in Swedish. I wish there was a way to instantly kill all open apps like on Android.
